Olivia Headboard wall decal by Mina Javid for Blik

Ingenious! Give your bedroom an instant makeover with this self-adhesive, removable headboard, made of ultra-thin vinyl. I think this idea is FAB! It only costs $40 (twin), and adds such a great touch to a room especially if you can't afford a custom bedhead. It also comes in six different colors and a couple of different styles. It could give a drab white room in your loft/apartment a punch of color. Check out other decals and furniture pieces on this website.

Birdy Fabric

We have chosen this off-white linen fabric with sea birds on it for the drapery fabric.  The header will be English pleat with no background and only 2 inches.  This style is more European and will create a more relaxed look for our beachy nursery style.  The hem will be a standard 4" double hem.  The lining will be a blackout material that has a nice cotton hand to it.

This fabric is apart of Thom Filicia's collection for Kravet.  Thom Filicia played a role in the TV shows- Queer Eye for The Straight Guy, Dress My Nest, and Tacky House.  "His new fabric collection for Kravet  introduces a style, he says, that is "modern, fresh and accessible".  His fabric represents these ideals through a selection of prints and weaves in contemporary patterns and colors like yellow, gray, blue, orange, and natural.  He is known for his thoughtfully personalized interiors, which feature richly layered textures and colors for a lived-in yet highly sophisticated look."

Inspiration

WDI Design is inspired by the colors represented in this fabric for the Nursery we are working on. We love the combination of a soft yellow, a sea mist green and a blue. Since the client wants the room to be gender neutral we think that this color scheme will be a fresh take on a sea side look.

As designers, Suzanne and I find inspiration in furniture, fabric, buildings, pictures/art, jewelry, clothes, and nature.

New Job

WDI Design is excited about a new job. Job Description-Turning an office into a nursery on a budget. Style-Coastal/Beachy for a client who doesn't know the sex of the baby.

We would love to take you through the design process from start to finish.

We will be posting pictures of how we come up with our design inspiration, cost of construction, what works in the room and why something doesn't work, furniture layout, fabrics, great finds, and anything else we come across that might be of interest.

Like life, the most interesting part about design is the journey to the end result.
